What do I do if my student’s

    Chromebook is broken?

Computers break. If your student’s breaks, they’ll receive a loaner for the day.

    • IF your family bought technology insurance OR the damage was not your student's fault, then you’re all set. We’ll continue to provide a loaner until the computer is repaired.
    • IF you have no insurance AND the damage was your student’s fault, then your family will receive a text that you owe $45. Your student will only continue receiving a loaner once the repair fee is paid.

(Laptop repairs cost us hundreds of dollars, most of which Kairos covers. Your family pays a small percentage as part of taking responsibility for your actions.) Repairs take anywhere between two to six weeks, depending on the damage. Repair times have slowed during the COVID pandemic, as well, which is yet another reason students should be careful with their laptops.
